Zhejiang Yutong New Materials Co., Ltd. was established in May 1994. In 2003, the company established the Enterprise Research and Development Center. In 2005, it was rated as “Ship Paint City High-tech Enterprise Research and Development Center”. In June 2010, the Zhejiang Science and Technology Department “Zhekekeke [10] No. 122” Approved and established the “Fish Children's Marine Paint Provincial High-tech Enterprise Research and Development Center”. At the end of 2017, there were 18 “center” technicians, accounting for 17.3% of the total number of companies. “Centre” is the general manager/ chief engineer (500 elite talents, Wenling Top Ten Science and Technology Talents, China Coatings Industry Association Expert Committee and China Steel Structure Association Boiler Branch Expert) as the technical leader, 2 senior engineers, registered 1 safety engineer, 4 assistant engineers, and 1 chemical analyst. The research area is 910m2; there is a national-level paint testing center (assessed by China Classification Society). "Center" function settings: office, project room, salt spray room, anti-aging room, constant temperature room, chemical analysis room, physical laboratory and shallow sea immersion test station. The main instruments and facilities used in R&D and experiment are: QCT condensation test chamber, ultraviolet accelerated aging test chamber, electric heating constant temperature blast drying box, high and low temperature test chamber, etc. More than 70 sets/sets, excellent facilities and advanced technology.
 
R&D center's main responsibilities: to produce the company's marine coatings, industrial heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings technology development plan; around the marine engineering, civil ships, ships, petrochemicals, etc., anti-corrosion, heavy-duty protection, research on key technologies and products, including : Development of water-based, high-solids differentiation, solvent-free, green environmentally friendly coatings, focusing on long-lasting, functional, and safe reliability of coatings; responsible for technical analysis of government-related scientific and technological projects and technical guidance for project processes , supervision and evaluation; responsible for cooperation with universities, research institutes, industry, research and research; responsible for guiding and solving technical problems in paint production; responsible for technical training of employees and preparation of relevant teaching materials; and effectively promoting the company's technological innovation process.
